Upgrading VCSA 6.5u1 to 6.7

Final Notes

Additional information / useful links in vCenter

Something to note is that you can no longer access vCenter using the C# client (aka Fat Client), however, you can use VMware workstation to connect to the vCenter(s) and manage it from there, but not this is incredibly limited.

The flex based client is still full featured (e.g. supports additional extension and plugins), but there is no more development happening on this product.

The HTML5 Client (which is referred to vSphere Client) is where the folks at VMware are headed.

Also, out of the box Update Manager is now available in the vSphere Client, not only is it prettier than the Flex client counterpart, it is really quick and responsive.

vRealize Operations are also now included in the HTML5 client it seems, and from what it looks like, it will be like the old vCOPS instance where it was integrated in to the old C# client,  but I haven’t got one set up in my lab to test this, so more to come on this.

The Platform Services Controller has also been fully integrated with the vSphere client, so you can do certificate management, and other operations directly from there.

It also looks like vSAN is fully implemented, but this is not something I have set up in the lab.

On a whole, I am really happy (ever since the first release) with the vSphere Client.
